Parc Diagonal Mar stop (towards Port Olímpic)
The Parc Diagonal Mar stop allows you to discover how the area’s industrial past has been adapted to the 21st century. In addition to the enormous Diagonal Mar Park, you can also climb up a lookout point located inside an old tower that supplied local industry with its water and visit a large factory that is now home to various creative studios and an interesting market.
The conversion of industry into leisure services
On the Green Route of Barcelona Bus Turístic you can hop off at the Parc Diagonal Mar stop, where you can see a large green space with giant slides overlooking the sea and steel sculptures in homage to the metalwork factory that had occupied the space.
Opposite the park is the Besòs Water Tower, an old construction that was used to supply the factories in the area and is now a lookout point where you can get a bird’s eye view of the area. Close by is Palo Alto, a creative cluster in a large factory complex built in 1875 that offers an interesting programme of cultural activities. And on the coast you can relax on some of the city’s quietest beaches, Mar Bella and Llevant.
