Fàbrica Moritz Barcelona

Hola Barcelona, your travel solution

Moritz beer has been in Barcelona since 1864, when Louis Moritz set up shop, once the city walls had been knocked down, in what would today be the Raval and Eixample neighbourhoods, that is to say, right where you can now visit the Fàbrica Moritz Barcelona (Moritz Brewery). With an aftertaste of history and notes of modernity, this space is today the temple of brewers and culture vultures.

Why visit the Fàbrica Moritz Barcelona?

Whether you like beer or not, a visit to this brewery is more than just a chance to see a huge showcase of this drink. To start with, as well as being able to taste all the different types of beer that are produced, it is also a place where you can share a table and good food.

What's more, in the shop you'll find all the books and accessories that any beer lover would want to have at home. And as if that weren't enough, you can also see concerts and presentations, take part in beer-making workshops or enjoy food and beer pairing menus of the highest quality.

How to get to the Fàbrica Moritz Barcelona?

Walk along Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes towards Plaça de Catalunya, turn right on to Carre de Muntaner and then immediately down Ronda de Sant Antoni and you will find the Fàbrica Moritz Barcelona.

For the more curious

  • Did you know that: Louis Moritz built the brewery using stones from the demolished city walls of Barcelona, and in 2011 Jean Nouvel modernised it.
  • Local's tip: When you visit, be sure to go to the ground floor, where you can still see a Civil War air-raid shelter.
  • A must: To see first-hand a brewery with more than 160 years of history and to try all the brews.
