Platja del Bogatell stop
The nearest stop to the beaches invites you to sunbathe, dive into the Mediterranean, or simply enjoy a day outdoors on a terrace by the sea or contemplating the funerary art displays in one of the oldest cemeteries in Barcelona.
Beaches and a fine display of funerary art
The Platja del Bogatell stop on the Red Route of the Barcelona Bus Turístic is a great point to take a leisurely walk along Barcelona's coastline, a wide promenade flanked by beaches and gardens where many locals take the opportunity to practice sports or spend time with friends.
It is also the stop from which you can access what was the first cemetery built outside the walled city of Barcelona, in 1775. However, the Poblenou Cemetery you can see today is a neoclassical complex reconstructed in the 19th century after being destroyed by Napoleon's troops. Inside, it is worth taking a look at the mausoleums and sculptures, true works of art, that accompanied the upper classes in their passage to the afterlife, such as The Kiss of Death by Jaume Barba, from 1930.
