Why visit Casa Golferichs?

When you stand in front of this building, you will understand why it has always been popularly known as ‘the Villa’, as it is a three-facade house in the heart of the Eixample district. It was commissioned in 1900 by the Golferichs family from the architect Joan Rubió i Bellver. The Golferichs lived there until 1936, when the Civil War broke out and it was confiscated by the anarchist militia.

After the war, the house returned to its owners, who turned it into a school, until it was bought by a construction company in 1973. Finally, in 1984 it was acquired by Barcelona City Council to be turned into the civic centre it is today, where music and photography play a very important role.

How do you get to Casa Golferichs?
