A hub and the start of the commercial section of Avinguda Diagonal
The Francesc Macià – Diagonal stop on the Red Route of Barcelona Bus Turístic is located at a key square that is the confluence of the Districts of Les Corts, the left part of the Eixample district and Sant Gervasi and the start of a number of major thoroughfares like Avinguda de Josep Tarradellas, Avinguda de Pau Casals and Carrer del Comte d’Urgell. Moreover, the section of Avinguda Diagonal that runs from Plaça de Francesc Macià to Passeig de Gràcia concentrates most of the shopping outlets on this major street.
If you walk up Avinguda de Pau Casals, you will reach Turó Park, a large secluded park that Nicolau Maria Rubió i Tudurí designed in 1929 on land previously occupied by an amusement park. You can choose whether to follow the botanic route or the poetic route, which features all the sculptures in honour of Catalan musicians and artists that populate the park.
