Parc Diagonal Mar stop
A stop where the past of industrial facilities, like the Torre de les Aigües del Besós (water tower), is combined with modern, uniquely designed green spaces in the city.
Barcelona claims its industrial past
Parc Diagonal Mar, a large space of greenery and play areas, was built on land once occupied by a metallurgical company and is decorated with steel sculptures that remind us of its industrial past, from which the Torre de les Aigües del Besós has been preserved, now transformed into a large sculpture offering a panoramic view of Barcelona.
The Parc Diagonal Mar stop will allow you to see how the area’s industrial past has been adapted to the 21st century. In addition to the vast Parc Diagonal Mar, you can also ascend to an observation deck located inside an old tower that once supplied water to the industries.
In front of the park stands the Torre de les Aigües del Besós an old building that was meant to supply water to the surrounding factories and is now an observation deck offering a bird’s-eye view of the neighborhood. And along the coast, you can relax at some of the city’s less crowded beaches, such as Mar Bella and Llevant.
