Enjoy panoramic views of Barcelona from Montjuïc
The Telefèric de Montjuïc stop on the Red Route is located at the end of the funicular’s ascent from Avinguda del Paral·lel and where the cable car to Montjuïc Castle starts.
With the cable car you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city as you sedately ascend to a defensive fortress that has dominated Barcelona since 1640, although the current structure is the result of the renovation work undertaken in the mid-18th century.
Between the castle and the cable car stop you will find two connected gardens dedicated to two Catalan poets: Mossèn Cinto Verdaguer Gardens and Joan Brossa Gardens. The former specialise in aquatic, bulbous and rhizomatous plants, while the Joan Brossa Gardens have three areas reserved for sound experimentation instruments and games, in addition to a zip-line that crosses the entire park.
